Kisler, Redding voted All-Arrowhead Conference 1st team after leading Chargers to 3rd straight title
GALESBURG — After winning its third straight conference championship, the Sandburg women’s basketball team had two players represented on the All-Arrowhead Conference first team.
Sophomore Antonia Kisler and freshman Hailey Redding were voted by Arrowhead coaches to the squad after they helped Sandburg win the conference title outright with a 9-1 record. The duo also earned all-region honors earlier this week as the Chargers posted the program’s third straight season with 20 wins or more overall.
It's the second consecutive first-team
Kisler tied for the team lead at 3.8 assists per game in conference action. She shot 32 percent overall, 34 percent from 3-point range and 83 percent from the foul line. Kisler also collected 2.5 steals per conference contest.
Kisler scored in double figures in all 10 Arrowhead games, and she recorded four double-doubles in league play. She put up 27 points and 12 rebounds in Sandburg’s Sophomore Night win Feb. 17 over Black Hawk.
Redding, a 5-10 forward from Abingdon-Avon High School, led the Chargers with 62 made field goals and an 18.2 points-per-game average in 10 conference games. She connected on 40 percent of her shots from the floor, made 34 percent of her 3s and was an 81 percent shooter at the free-throw line. Redding averaged 4.9 rebounds against Arrowhead teams.
Like Kisler, Redding reached double figures in all 10 conference matchups, and she had five with at least 20 points. She scored 26 in Sandburg’s Feb. 3 win over Kishwaukee.
