Survivor celebration, Hearts of Hope part of Hancock County Fights Cancer event June 1st
The Hancock County Fights Cancer block party is Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 3
p.m. at the Hancock County courthouse lawn in Carthage.
Two local restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to HCFC – on March 20 at
The Wood in Carthage, and on April 23 at Rally Point in Bowen.
Many survivors have received a form in the mail. Others can register online at
www.hancockcountyfightscancer.org/register. Forms are also available at branches of
Fortress Bank or Marine Trust Bank.
Survivors should check in at the survivors table before 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event.
They will be honored after the opening ceremony around 12:30 p.m.
This year, 60 percent of the funds raised through HCFC events will be given to HUGS of
Hancock County, a support group that gives emotional and financial help to cancer
patients in Hancock County. The remaining 40 percent will go to St. Jude Children’s
Research Hospital.
