Hy-Vee Dietitians to Provide 1,500 FREE A1C Screenings in November

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (Oct. 31, 2022) — In honor of National Diabetes Awareness Month, Hy-Vee’s team of
registered dietitians will host events in November focused on helping individuals manage their blood sugar
levels and helping create a balanced lifestyle. Events will include virtual cooking classes, store tours and free A1C
screenings throughout the month.
A1C Screenings
Hy-Vee dietitians will offer 1,500 free A1C screenings at more than 60 Hy-Vee locations throughout the
company’s eight-state region, available while supplies last. Results will be provided during the appointment.

Healthy Habits Meal Plan (Gluten-free or dairy-free menus also available)
Hy-Vee dietitians will offer a four-week menu program for individuals seeking a meal plan to support a balanced
lifestyle with one-on-one support. The plan includes simple dietitian-inspired recipes, convenient grocery lists,
balanced meals and snacks, and weekly one-on-one visits with a Hy-Vee dietitian to track progress, ask
questions and stay motivated.
Free Wellness Wednesdays with Hy-Vee Dietitians (Virtual)
Complimentary Wellness Wednesday classes will be offered virtually each week in November from noon to
12:30 p.m. Topics will include: Gluten-Free Holiday Baking, Holiday Charcuterie Board, Holiday Travel Treats,
Cereal Bars, and Carb Conscious Holidays. Each class will also include a simple and delicious recipe
demonstration. Registration is required.
Freezer Meal Workshops (Virtual)
Hy-Vee dietitians will host two kinds of virtual Freezer Meal Workshops designed to help families save time and
money by preparing nutritious meals ahead of time. Participants can register and receive a step-by-step guide,
recipes and a Hy-Vee Aisles Online shoppable link with all of the ingredients already added for easy shopping.

Hy-Vee dietitians make it easy for individuals to manage their dietary restrictions related to allergies and
food sensitivities. In this freezer meal workshop individuals will prepare five flavorful, budget-friendly
meals. Registration is available online.

In this freezer meal workshop, individuals will learn how to prep meals ahead of time while saving both
time and money. Individuals will receive a step-by-step guide, recipes, a shopping list and a Hy-Vee
Aisles Online shoppable link to help individuals and families reach their health goals. Registration is
