Hallie Ray and Katelyn Blanton have been named Chargers of the Month for October at Illini West High School.
This award goes to students who have demonstrated dedication, achievement, and outstanding effort at IWHS. They receive food cards, their pictures on the school website/social media, special parking spots for the month, and recognition in the local newspapers.
Ray was nominated by teacher Mr. Hoener. An excerpt from the nomination letter is as follows.
“Hallie has been a definite “ray” of sunshine these past few years. Even when Covid hit, she was a person that stood up and did whatever it took to get things done. This year we are beginning to get more involved with community service work and she has done a tremendous job. I am so proud of her efforts.”
Blanton was nominated by teacher Mrs. Knicl. An excerpt from the nomination letter is as follows.
“Katelyn has been an outstanding leader, student, and friend to all in and out of the classroom. She is always prepared and taking on roles that haven’t been assigned to her. Katelyn is a positive role model and an absolute joy to be around”
Congratulations to Hallie & Katelyn!
