Jeffery Allan Atterberg

Jeffery Allan Atterberg

effery Allan Atterberg, 60, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison, Iowa.

He was born May 16, 1966, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Robert and Beverly Hickey Atterberg. He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1984.

Jeff was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served his country in Okinawa, Japan, and the Philippines.

On July 30, 1988, Jeff was united in marriage to Linda McGee in Keokuk. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Michael Atterberg (Susan) of Hamilton, Illinois, Megan Morgan of Keokuk, and Melissa Anderson (Daniel) of Canton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Tanner Atterberg, Conner Atterberg, and Rosalynn Atterberg; one brother, Kevin Atterberg; one sister, Julie McVeigh; numerous nieces and nephews; and his father-in-law, Harry McGee of Carthage, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, Delene Atterberg, and his mother-in-law, Rosalie McGee.

Jeff was employed by Griffin Wheel in Keokuk for thirty years before retiring in October 2025. Throughout his life, he enjoyed making the most of his time away from work. He especially enjoyed taking rides on his tricycle motorcycle with Linda, attending car shows, fishing, and traveling whenever he had vacation time. A true jack of all trades, Jeff was always ready to tackle handyman projects around the house. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his family and grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, November 2 at Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa, with Pastors Terry Massey and Mike Floyd officiating. A private family burial with military rites will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home, with family meeting with friends at that time.

Memorials may be made to Honor Flight or to Wounded Warriors.
