Jacklyn “Jackie” Sue Allen

1978-2026

Jacklyn “Jackie” Sue Allen, 48, of Socorro, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026.

She was born January 27, 1978, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Terry “TA” and Becky Nixon Allen. Jackie graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1996 and later attended Southeastern Community College in Keokuk, where she earned her nursing degree.

Jackie dedicated her career to caring for others, with a special place in her heart for those living with Alzheimer’s disease. She had most recently been employed as the Assistant Director of Nursing at Socorro Wellness and Rehabilitation. Jackie took great pride in her work and found deep meaning in making a difference in the lives of those entrusted to her care.

Jackie had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking, tubing, and exploring the wilderness. To Jackie, the wilderness was her church, and she loved discovering new places, taking adventures, and experiencing all that life had to offer. She had a special appreciation for Native American culture and enjoyed traveling whenever she had the opportunity. Jackie was also an avid Backgammon player and was a Nixon family champion for many years. Her beloved four-legged companions, Nahko and Sis, held a special place in her heart.

Jackie had a caring spirit and a genuine desire to make a difference. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, adventurous spirit, and love for others. Her memory will leave footprints on the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, Darren Blickhan of Keokuk; one brother, David Allen (Leah) of Keokuk; two sisters, Jen Bourgeois (Ryan) of Kahoka, Missouri, and Ash Manning (Shad) of Agency, Iowa; her stepfather, George Worster of Keokuk; her stepmother, Tammy Allen of Keokuk; step-siblings; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and a niece and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Terry “TA” Allen and Becky Nixon Worster, grandparents, and one aunt.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, September 20, at Southside Boat Club in Keokuk.

Memorials may be made to Dogtopia of Albuquerque.
