Robert G. Benton, 68, of Hamilton, passed away at 12:15 AM, early Friday morning, September 4, 2026, at his home.
Robert was born February 17, 1958, the son Ronald and Jacqueline Mae(Wright) Fezatte Benton in Stanwood, Michigan. He graduated fromNewaygo High School in Newaygo, Michigan and had planned on attending his fiftieth-class reunion this month. He joined the United States Air Force in 1977 and received his Honorable Discharge in 1980 as the result of a
disability. Robert spent most of his life working as an over-the-road truck driver. Robert lived most of his life in West Michigan and Georgia, and most recently in Illinois. He made friends wherever he traveled and loved to make the ladies blush with his compliments. He was a retired disabled veteran of the United States Air Force.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Sara (Tim) Ramsey of Hastings, MI; grandchildren, Dalaina (Ben) Heinrich, Dakota (Maegan) Kilgore, Cheyanne (Devin Rendon) Kilgore and Tyler Benton Ramsy; great  grandchildren, Shelby, Jeremiah and Ryder Mae Heinrich; a brother, Jerry (Trisha) Benton of St. Joseph, MI; a sister, Cindy (Gary) Papendick of Union Pier, MI; a sister-in-law, Cindy Benton of Grand Rapids, MI; and a
special place in the life of his nephew, Duane (Jamie) Benton of Newaygo; many nieces, n ephews and cousins; and a special fur baby, a German Shepherd named Tug who he was so proud of.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Tom, Terry and Tim Benton.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
