Willis Devericks, 90, of Warsaw


Willis Devericks, 90

 

Willis Devericks, 90, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2026, in Caro, Michigan.

 

Willis was born March 22, 1936, the son of Wilber and Marion (Northrup) Devericks, in Midland, Michigan.  He graduated from Midland High School.  He left his home in Michigan to meet his church pen pal, Gladys Leffler, in Warsaw and they were married on May 5, 1962.  She preceded him in death after 57 years of marriage in 2019.  He had worked for the Shellor-Globe and Henniges Corporations for many years and was a member of the Family Worship Center in Keokuk.  He was an accomplished musician playing the accordion, piano, tambourine and singing.  Willis enjoyed keeping busy and making many crafting and knitting items. 

 

Willis is survived by his son, Brian Devericks, of Keokuk; grandchildren, Wade (Alyssa) Devericks, Brian (Eva) Devericks, Jake Devericks and Sabrina (Kenneth) Kissell; six great grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Carl Schultheis; and a great aunt, Lillian Hayes.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gladys; a son, Arthur; a daughter, Lisa; siblings, Ida Pratt, Edna Blizzard, Helen Klein, Clara Schultheis; and James Devericks.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 28, 2026, at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw.
