Anthony Norris Smith, 65 of Keokuk, IA, died Thursday, July 9, 2026 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA.
He was born February 24, 1961 in Cedar Rapids, IA the son of Nellie Dawson Bradley.
Anthony was the kind of person who could fix just about anything he put his hands on and was always willing to lend those talents to anyone in need. Helping others came naturally to him, and he found genuine joy in making life a little easier for the people around him.
Music was one of Anthony's greatest passions. A gifted musician, he loved playing guitar and sharing his talent with family and friends while performing with his band, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come. He also enjoyed drawing, another creative outlet that reflected his artistic spirit.
Anthony lived life to the fullest. With his outgoing personality and infectious smile, he never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel like a friend. His generous heart, kind nature, and willingness to be there whenever someone needed him are the qualities that will be remembered most by all who knew and loved him.
Anthony is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Smith of Keokuk; two daughters, Alea Mooney and Lisa Smith; three sons, Anthony Moore, Jerry Blackwell, and Anthony Smith Jr.; his sister, Cynthia Williams (Robert) of Keokuk; his mother-in-law, Sheila Blackwell; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents, two brothers and one son Jeffrey Moore and his father-in-law, Jerry Blackwell.
A celebration of life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 3, at the Lake Cooper Foundation. The family will greet friends during this time. Dinner and fellowship will be provided as family and friends gather to honor and celebrate a life well lived.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
