Donnie Andrew Rutledge
Donnie Andrew Rutledge, 60, of Wayland, MO, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home in Wayland, MO.
Donnie was born in Macomb, IL, on December 1, 1965. He was the son of Tommy Lee and Delores (Fewkes) Rutledge. Donnie went on to serve in the US Army, proudly serving his country. On July 19, 2003, he was united in marriage to Laurie Wall in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Donnie was a man of many colors, both in his work and his life. He spent most of his career working as a painter. He enjoyed classic cars and car shows, often spending weekends under the sun admiring classic beauties. A proud gun enthusiast, he cherished sharing this hobby with his fellow enthusiasts. With a fishing rod in hand, he loved being out on the water, appreciating the simpler things in life. Traveling was another passion that Donnie held dear. Whether exploring new destinations or revisiting familiar favorites, he embraced the adventure of discovering new places and cultures. Above all, Donnie's heart belonged to his family, especially his grandkids, whom he adored and lived for.
Known for his great sense of humor, Donnie could light up a room with his infectious laughter and witty remarks. He found joy in bringing smiles to the faces of those around him, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Laurie Rutledge; his children, Maegan Rutledge, Kurtis Rutledge, Carrie Hammer, and Dalton Rutledge; his grandchildren, Madison Richbark, Dresden Rutledge, Breyden Rutledge, Nova Hickle, and Phoenix Rutledge; his father, Richard Maxson; his mother-in-law, Barbara Wall; his siblings, T.L. Rutledge, Deanna Twaddle, and Roger Wall.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Cheyenne Rutledge, and his father-in-law, John Wall.
A funeral service will held at 11 am on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial following at Elvaston Cemetery with military rites. A visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9am. Memorials may be made out to the family for funeral expenses. Printy Funeral Home is providing arrangements.
