Timothy Andrew Congdon

Timothy Andrew Congdon, 49, of Macomb, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on
Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at his home.
Tim was born November 24, 1976, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Daniel R.
and Mary Anne (Shipplett) Congdon. He graduated from Hamilton High
School in 1994, earned his EMS certification in 1996, and later obtained his
Optometry ABO Certification in 2014. Tim dedicated more than 20 years to
the eyecare profession. On October 28, 2006, he married Amanda Guyton
in Bushnell, Illinois. He was a member of the First Christian Church in
Hamilton.
Tim will be remembered as a fierce and loyal friend to all who knew him.
He had a deep interest in reading and researching all things optical, and he
enjoyed hiking and spending time outdoors whenever he could. He loved
music of all genres and especially cherished time spent with family and
friends.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda, of Macomb; his children, Ross
Congdon of Champaign, Beth Congdon of Quincy, Gavin Congdon of
Keokuk, and Jarid (Jazzmyn) Guyton of Yankton, South Dakota; and his
father, Daniel Congdon of Carthage.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Guyton, and his mother,
Mary Anne Congdon.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at
Printy Funeral Home in Carthage, with burial to follow at Oakwood
Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time
of service at noon at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to
Illinois Cancer Care, per Tim’s request. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is
assisting the family with arrangements.
