Audrey Nordenstrom Fairchild

Audrey Nordenstrom Fairchild, 103 of Keokuk, IA passed away peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison, IA. 

     She was born April 5, 1922 in Saxon, WI the daughter of J.B. and Selma Bredemeier Nordenstrom. 

     On August 17, 1945 Audrey was united in marriage to Walter Fairchild.  He preceded her in death on November 12, 1988.    

     Audrey retired from the Keokuk Community School District and was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Keokuk. 

     She is survived by four children, Denise Sapp of Seminole, FL, Barbara Pezley (Gary) of Keokuk, Linda Lee of Keokuk and Robert Fairchild (Diane) of Layton, UT, thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Phyllis Kulavar of International Falls, MN and many nieces and nephews. 

     Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five siblings. 

     A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, IA with Pastor Gayle Pope officiating.  A procession to the cemetery will leave the funeral home at 10:45 a.m.

     Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with the family meeting with friends at that time.
