Ronald Lee Jones
Mississippi Valley Healthcare Center in Keokuk, IA.
He was born on March 17, 1952, to Joyce Callsen and Harley Jones in Keokuk
and raised by his grandparents, Carl “Heinie” and Velva Callsen.
He graduated from Central Lee High School in 1970.
Ronald was first married to Kathy Rose. They later divorced. He was then
married to Marilyn Houghton on May 5, 1990. She preceded him in death on June
26, 2025.
Ronald had been employed by Stone Container in Keokuk as a foreman,
American Paper Company in Godfrey, IL, as well as a foreman at Champion Paper
Company in Dubuque, IA.
Ronald enjoyed hunting and fishing. He raised hunting dogs. He also led groups
of hunters through the process of achieving every hunter’s goal of taking home a
prize trophy.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Kurt Houghton (Michelle) of Keokuk,
Megan McMillen, Steven Houghton, and 7grandchildren, half-sisters, Kathy Knox,
Pam (Richard) Barber and Cindy Harris and one nephew, Jason (Emily) Coop.
Besides his wife, Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, two half-
brothers, Ike and Joe, and his grandparents, Heinie & Velva Callsen.
Burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials can be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Keokuk.
The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with
arrangements.
