Cynthia "Cindy" Stuckwisch,
by her side, January 25, 2026, at Birkwood Village in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Cindy was born on November 9, 1947, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Ed and Orpha
(Roth) Dawson. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1966, and went on to work
at Decker Manufacturing in Keokuk for many years.
Cindy was of the Christian faith. She found happiness creatively with her hands, always
wanting to bring a little beauty to a spot your eye might only catch later, as her
gardening and crafts reflected. She loved her card club, where she connected with her
friends and family regularly. She considered the two live concerts of the Beatles she
attended among her life's highlights, but simple things, like working the soil, collecting
teddy bears and hand sculptures, and her lifelong friendship with the childhood friend
she saw those shows with as the real treasures of life.
Cindy is survived by her son Christopher Sean (Gina) McGinnis of Keokuk; three
grandchildren: Courtney Elaine Moore of Burlington, Iowa, Megan (Glenn) White of
Sibley, Missouri, and Connor Decker McGinnis of Cedar Falls, Iowa; great-grandson
Asher; and her beloved Aunts and cousins.
Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Charles “Duff” Decker, her
brother Michael (Jean) Bollinger, and her great-granddaughter Kinsley Moore.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 4 pm on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at DeJong-Printy
Funeral Home in Keokuk. A graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton will be
held in the spring.
Memorials may be directed to Bentley’s Playground or PAWS Animal Shelter, because
Cindy believed kids and kittens matter.
