Becky Whitefeather Riney

1962-2026

 

      Becky Whitefeather Riney, 63, of Keokuk, Iowa, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Great River Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

     She was born July 2, 1962, in Keokuk, the daughter of Bernard W. and Mary Ellen Rude Riney. Becky graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1980.

     In her younger years, Becky was employed as a family and substance counselor. She later worked as a bartender for more than twenty years, where she was well known and formed many lasting friendships. She was a member of New Bethel Church in Keokuk.

     Becky loved music and especially enjoyed singing. One of her most cherished and memorable experiences was having the opportunity to sing at the Ryman Auditorium on three occasions.

     She is survived by her children, Adam Riney and Miranda Cowles; three grandchildren, Zachary Gargus (Lizzy), Nakiya Harvey (Weston), and Hunter Riney; one great-grandson, Declan; David and Glorine Davis and their family, who were like a second family to her; one niece, Jessica; two brothers, David Davis and Bernard “Bernie” Riney ; and three sisters, Diana Moulton, Violet Spoores, and Penny Davis and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Seth Walton Cowles; two sisters, Toni Martinez and Sharon Haught; and one brother, Raymond Davis.

     A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, January 22 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Rick Kent officiating.

     Visitation will be held prior to the service from 4-6 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
