Myrna Lou Johnson
2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.
Myrna was born October 9, 1940, the daughter of Wendell and Faye
(Clapper) Rampley in West Point, Illinois. She graduated from Bowen High
School. In 1966, she was united in marriage to John Meinert Johnson in
Wayne City, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2020. Myrna retired from
Methode Electronics in 2006 after twenty years of service. She enjoyed
softball and gardening and especially loved farming. She helped operate
her family’s farm after her mother’s passing and ran the tractor with her
husband on their own farm. She very much enjoyed her time on her lawn
mower over the years. Myrna was an avid sports fan, rooting for the St.
Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and the University of Illinois.
Myrna is survived by her children, Kathy (James) Manley of Middletown,
Iowa and Pamela Johnson of Basco, and a grandson, Zachary Manley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; a sister JoAnn
Carden; and a brother in infancy, Eldon.
Funeral services will be held at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage at 10 am
on Saturday, January 24, 2026, with burial to follow in the Immanuel
Lutheran Church Cemetery near Basco. Visitation will be held from 4pm to
7pm on Friday, January 23, at the funeral Home. Memorials may be made
out to the Basco Community Building or to the family for funeral expenses.
