Letha Mae Hicks

Letha Mae Hicks, 81, of Hamilton, passed away at Memorial Hospital in
Carthage on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Letha was born January 24, 1944, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of
Virgil Herbert and Margaret Isabell (Spurgeon) Riney. She graduated from
LaHarpe High School in 1963. On May 10, 1964, she was united in
marriage to David Larry Hicks in LaHarpe, Illinois. He preceded her in
death in 1997. Letha retired from Methode Electronics after twenty years of
service. She truly enjoyed going on vacation with her family and reading
romance and mystery novels.
Letha is survived by her children, Cynthia (Steve), Rossiter of Quincy,
Illinois, and Robert Hicks of Hamilton; two grandchildren; five great
grandchildren; her sister, Elura (Richard) Martin, Sr. of Carthage; several
nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Poncho and Rascal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Herbert Lee
Riney and Herbert Dean Riney.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 21, 2026,
at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in the Elvaston
Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services at
noon at the funeral home. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of
arrangements.
