Christine “Chris” Stewart

Christine “Chris” Stewart, 70, of Sutter, Illinois, passed away from a heart attack in her
home yesterday morning, December 28, 2025, at 10:15 am.
Chris was born on December 11, 1955, in Carthage, Illinois, the daughter of Traves and
Cecile (Hardy) Brownlee. She was united in marriage to John Stewart in Keokuk in
2003.
Chris is survived by her husband John; three sons: Christopher, Terry (Ciarra) and
Trevor; two stepsons John and Chad; Grandchildren: Travis, Aaron, TJ (Hunter),
Timothy, Harlon, Jake, Garrick, Bobby, Audrey, Sadie, Sophie, Gretchen, Grace, and
Stormy; three great grandchildren; sister: Janet Walters; brother Mike Brownlee; nieces,
nephews, and many beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her son Tim
(Courtney, Robyn, Christina); granddaughters Mekeda and Caroline; parents Travis and
Cecile; brothers Travis and Steve (Marie); and other beloved friends and family.
Chris was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Keokuk, Iowa, and was
employed at Henniges for 45 years. Jesus and her family were the center of her life,
and she enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and nature. She was comforted at the time
of her passing by her husband John and her son Christopher.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm (Noon) on Friday, January 2, 2025, at Printy
Funeral Home in Warsaw, with burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 10 am to 12 pm (Noon) at the funeral home directly
before the service.
