Lois Virginia Wagner

1936 -2025

 

     Lois Virginia Wagner, 89 of Keokuk, IA passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at River Hills Village in Keokuk.

     She was born June 6, 1936 in Warsaw, IL the daughter of Archie and Jenetta Finton.   Lois attended Warsaw High School in Warsaw, IL. 

     Lois was united in marriage to Donald Wagner at the United Methodist Church in Warsaw, they later divorced he preceded her in death. 

     She had been employed by Armour Dial/Conagra for twenty-five years and retired from there.

     Lois lived her life guided by her strong faith and a heart for serving others. She loved baking for family and friends, singing her favorite hymns, and staying involved in her community. She also had a deep and abiding respect for the American flag and all it represented, which she proudly honored throughout her life. She had a playful spirit and was an enthusiastic collector of Peanuts Gang comic memorabilia and a lot of other things.  Above all, Lois treasured her friendships and the moments spent in good conversation and shared laughter.

     She is survived by one daughter, Dianna (Stephen) Burden of Mount Union, IA, one son, Gary Wagner of Montrose, IA, grandchildren, Corliss Burden, Amber (Gary) Wagner and Skyler Stark, and one sister, Mary Jane Brown of Keokuk.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including, a special nephew, David Finton and a special niece, Betty Pederilla

     She was preceded in death by her parents and twelve siblings, Anna Skyles, Goldie Henkle, Albert Finton, Almon Finton, Lucy Coffman, Ruth Gabbert, Dorothy Stepp, Robert Finton, Norman Finton, Daniel Finton, Richard Finton and Marlene Finton.

     According to her wishes, Lois chose to donate her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program for education and research.

      A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

     The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
