Jeanne Caropreso

1947-2025

Jeanne Caropreso, 78, of Keokuk passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA.

She was born on February 22, 1947, in Pittsfield, MA, the daughter of Edwin and Helen Sweeny Keir. Jeanne graduated from Pittsfield High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in Burlington, VT.

On August 17, 1968, she was united in marriage to Philip Caropreso in Pittsfield. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jeanne was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, where she served on the Parish Council and was a proud member of the Ladies of Charity.

She treasured her friendships, especially her time with her coffee group and playing bridge.   Her coffee group was more than just a routine gathering, it was a circle of support, laughter, and lifelong connection that she always looked forward to.  Jeanne had a special place in her heart for her four legged companions, her boxers.  Over the course of forty years she rescued and cared for many, each one holding a special place in her heart. Jeanne never missed a chance to brighten a friend’s day, always remembering a special moment with a heartfelt card.

Above all, Jeanne was a loving and dedicated mom and grandma. She poured her heart into raising her sons and found immeasurable joy in her grandchildren. Her family was her greatest pride and priority, and she never missed an opportunity to support, encourage, and celebrate them.
