Richard Alden "Dick" Cochran
Monday, May 26, 2025, at his home near Warsaw.
Dick was born August 10, 1937, the son of Robert Moore and Dorothy
Emily (Golliher) Cochran in Keokuk, Iowa. He attended Hamilton High
School graduating in 1955. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1956 until his
Honorable Discharge in 1960. On December 9, 1967, he was united in
marriage to Thelma Gladys Cassell at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in
Keokuk, Iowa. Dick was a lifelong farmer and an active member of his
community serving on the Wythe Township board and Wythe Cemetery
Board. He also helped steer the restoration of Pioneer Cemeteries and
delivered Meals on Wheels. He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian
Church in Hamilton.
Dick is survived by his wife, Thelma of Warsaw; three children, Jane
Elizabeth (Russell) Iutzi of Burnside, Marc Richard (Leslie) Cochran of
Hamilton and Jason Robert (Amy) Cochran of Hamilton; grandchildren,
Hannah, Caleb and Lauren George and Seth, Ryan, Molly, Ava and Joel
Cochran; a great granddaughter, Mayla; and his four-legged friend and
companion, Archie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lt. Robert W. Cochran;
and a sister, Barbara Cochran.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 31 st , 2025, at the
Bethel Presbyterian Church in Hamilton with burial to follow in Oakwood
Cemetery in Hamilton with Military Rites accorded by the U. S. Navy Honor
Guard and the Hancock County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from
9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at the Church. Memorials may
be directed to the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Hamilton or Hearts of
Hancock Humane Society. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge
of arrangements.
