Roger Thomas Sherer, 78, of Carthage, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at
the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
Tommy was born on April 27, 1947, in Keokuk, IA. He was the son of Kenneth Sherer
and Shirley Hayes. He graduated from Carthage High School. Shortly after, Tommy
joined the US Navy. He served in Vietnam, earning a Vietnam service medal. After
returning, Tommy continued to support and help the local VFW. He also spent many
years working in excavating.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Moss Ridge
Cemetery in Carthage, IL, with military rites. Printy Funeral Home is handling
arrangements.
