Glenn E. Jurgens

Glenn was born December 1, 1926, the son of Frank R. and Pearl (Stockmyr) Jurgens in
Keokuk, Iowa. He graduated from Carthage High School and was immediately drafted into the
U.S. Army and served two years overseas during WWII. Upon his return, he worked many
years, later retiring from W.L. Miller Company. Glenn was generous with his money and gave to
many organizations over the years. He enjoyed woodworking and following Nebraska
Cornhuskers sports. Above all, Glenn enjoyed people and could often be seen visiting local
businesses and socializing. He also loved traveling, especially out West and made many friends
over the years stopping in at the local bars for a drink. He was a charter member of the
Carthage Eagles Club. Glenn valued his family above all else, and was always happiest when
he was able to be surrounded by his loved ones. Glenn was married to Joan Holt and later
Alberta (Bertie) Groves. They preceded him in death.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Debbie (David) Neill of Bowen; granddaughters, Sara (Eric
Krueger) Eifert and Holly (Josh) Weller; great grandchildren, Emily (Grant) Clark and Benjamin
Eifert and Whitney, Allison and Lainey Weller; and great great grandchildren, Baker Clark and
one on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Josh Neill; a brother, Forrest Jurgens;
and a half sister, Ruth.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 31, 2025, at Printy Funeral Home in
Carthage with burial to follow in the Bowen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until
time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Memorial Hospital
Foundation. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
