Margaret J. Esslinger, 96, formerly of Bowen, Illinois, and more recently of
Ipava, Illinois, passed away at 4:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2024, at
Graham Hospital in Canton, Illinois.
Margaret was born November 15, 1927, in Rushville, Illinois, the daughter
of Harold and Lila (Pratt) Greer. She was united in marriage to Clinton G.
Esslinger on April 28, 1946, in Macomb, Illinois. He preceded her in death
in January of 1992.

Surviving is one son, Greg Esslinger of Albuquerque, NM; two daughters,
Jackie (Joe)Smith of Lacon, IL and Georgiann (Dean) Hood of Ipava, IL;
seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great great
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton. She was also
preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Margaret was a homemaker, church custodian and meat wrapper for
Crossland Locker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at
the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Bowen with burial to follow in
the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until
time of services at 11:00 at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be
directed to the Living Faith United Methodist Church in Bowen. Printy
Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
