Jamie Lynn Huls’ 54, of Carthage, IL entered into eternal rest at 9:30 pm Wednesday August
28, 2024, in Lafayette, LA at Our Lady of the Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Jamie was born August 9th, 1970, in Monmouth, IL to Jim and Cheryl Huls. Mr. Huls was a 1988
graduate of Hamilton High School, where he was active in football and track. He joined the
United States Navy in 1988 where he proudly served his country for four years. He was a truck
driver his entire career and most recently drove for Brady Transport out of Vernal, UT. Jamie
loved spending time with his family and driving trucks across the country. He will be deeply
missed by many.
He is survived by: His mother Cheryl Huls of Carthage, IL, ex-wife Esta Huls, of Florida, son
Justin Huls of Bloomington, IL, step daughter Rhonda (Juan) DeLeon, of San Antonio, TX, step
son Billy (Tammy) Dodd of Apopka, FL, Brother Mike (Shelly) Huls of Augusta, IL,
Granddaughter Miranda (Anthony) Watts of San Antonio, TX, Grandson Todd (Destiny) DeLeon
of San Antonio, TX, Great Grandchildren Kaidyn and Nylah Watts of San Antonio, TX, Niece
Kacy (Jose) Ramirez, of Clearwater, KS, Aunts Karen Ancelet of Bettendorf, IA, Terry (Jim) Goff,
of Biggsville, IL, and many other cousins and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Huls, Brother Jeff Huls, Uncle Richard Ancelet,
Uncle Randy Van Hove, and grandson Jonathan DeLeon.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Printy
Funeral Home in Carthage. Military rites will be rendered at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
There will be no formal service and burial at this time. A memorial fund has been established.
Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
