Dixie L. Cox, 75, of Carthage, passed away at 4:33 PM, Sunday, July 14,
2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Dixie was born May 20, 1949, in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph
James “Lefty” and Pearl Lydia (Ayers) Grant. She attended Hamilton High
School graduating in 1967. Dixie loved the United States of America. On
Octoer 7, 1987, she married the love of her life, Bill Cox, in Carthage. He
preceded her in death in 2020.
Dixie is survived by a brother, Kevin (Susan) Grant of Hamilton; Danette
(Ralph Harl) Huls of Carthage; a niece, Kari (Kevin) Reuschel: two
nephews, Curtis (Melissa) Grant and James (Heather) Grant; four great
nephews; one great niece; and her fur baby, Bandit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and a brother,
Gary Grant.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 2, 2024, at
Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Memorials may be directed to Hearts of
Hancock Animal Shelter in Carthage. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is
in charge of arrangements.
