Lillian Marie Mott, 99, of Hamilton, passed away at the Montrose
Healthcare Center at 11:38 AM Sunday, March 24, 2024
Lillian was born April 29, 1924, in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of
Rodman and Helen (Delzell) Baird. She graduated from Mediapolis High
School and then went on to receive her Beauticians License from the
Burlington Beauty Academy. On January 4, 1944, she was united in
marriage to Robert A. Mott at the Methodist Church parsonage in Hamilton.
He preceded her in death in 1980. Lillian operated her beauty shop in her
home for 68 years, retiring at the age of 87. She was a longtime member
of the Hamilton Methodist Church and she and her husband enjoyed
camping.
Lillian is survived by her children, Robert L. (Robin) Mott of Hamilton,
Rodney K. (Gina) Mott of Corpus Christi, Texas, Dennis W. (Linda) Mott of
Ft. Madison and Kitty Lee (Norman “Pete”) Jinkens of Mt. Sterling, Illinois;
twelve grandchildren, and many great grandchildren and great great
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Verda
Baird.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and siblings,
Marjorie Stout, Kenneth Baird and Norman Baird.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Oakwood
Cemetery in Hamilton for close friends and family at 10:00 AM. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be directed to the Hamilton United Methodist
Church Trustee Maintenance Fund, Lee County Hospice or the Hamilton
Public Library. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of
arrangements.
