Helen Ann Harms, 85, of Quincy, passed away at 6:25 PM Friday, February
2, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy.
Helen was born September 27, 1938, the daughter of Otis and Mabel
(Kunz) Wemhoner in Lima, Illinois. She graduated from Unity High School
in 1956. On April 27, 1957, she was united in marriage to Donald Harms at
the Sutter Salem Bible Church near Sutter. He survives. Helen had
worked as a secretary in Quincy and at Davis-Cleaver Process Company in
her younger years and later spent many years as a school bus driver for
Unity School District 4, a job she greatly enjoyed. In 1995 she was one of
the first women to enroll and graduate from the John Wood OTR driving
school and she and her husband drove over 1.5 million miles together from
1995 until their retirement in 2002. She was a member of the Sutter Salem
Bible Church near Sutter.
Helen is survived by her husband, Donald, of Quincy; two children, Steven
(Janet) Harms of Quincy and Julie (Doug) Siebers of Belleville, Illinois; two
grandchildren, Taylor (fiancé, Sarah Smith) Siebers and Hunter Siebers;
and one sister, Marge Wollbrink of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Merlin
Wemhoner.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at
Sutter Salem Bible Church near Sutter with burial to follow in New
Providence Cemetery in Ursa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM
Tuesday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Warsaw. Memorials may be
directed to Sutter Salem Bible Church near Sutter, Grace Baptist Church in
Quincy or the Alzheimer’s Association. Printy Funeral Home of Warsaw is
in charge of arrangements.
