Rosalie Anna Bishop, 72, of Carthage, passed away at her home, on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
Rosalie was born February 5, 1951, in Carthage, Illinois. She was the daughter of Reinhard H. and Sophie
Marie (Stuehrenberg) Bergmann. Rosalie graduated from Carthage High School in 1969. She was united
in marriage to Thomas Bishop at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb, Illinois on November 13,
1970.
Rosalie worked as a dispatcher at the Hancock County Sheriff’s office for 28 years, retiring in 2016. She
was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage. Rosalie loved gardening and keeping her yard
looking magnificent, she was acknowledged by the state of Illinois as a master gardener, and if you saw
her yard, you would definitely agree. Rosalie loved the many animals she had over the years, including
cows, many cats and dogs, a Llama named “Wilber”, and “Rocky” the flying squirrel that she had for
twelve years. She also enjoyed visiting her relatives in Germany and touring both Germany and Scotland.
Rosalie is survived by two sisters; Annaleen Plowman, of Argyle, Iowa and Linda (Tom) Hill-Davidson of
Centralia, Illinois, a brother; Reinhard J. (Cathy) Bergmann of Carthage, Illinois, nephews; Daniel (Fran)
Druck, Collin (Betty) Druck, Ryan (Amy) Bergmann, and Eric (Lindsey) Bergmann, cousins; Roma Klover
Ewing and John Klover, several grand nieces and nephews and relatives in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and brother in laws; Robert Earl Hill, Dale
Plowman, William Druck Sr. and a nephew Billy Druck Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Printy Funeral Home in
Carthage, with burial to follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Basco. Visitation will be from 10:00
A.M. until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to Hearts of Hancock or St. Jude’s Childrens
Hospital. Printy Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
