Emma EGLEY VanAusdall

Beautiful Emma, met her Savior, Jesus, on Friday, July 21, 2023.

She was born to Tony & Minnie (Chambers) Sheffler, November 30, 1918, in Keokuk, Iowa.

Emma attended Culver-Stockton College as a young girl. After raising her three sons Emma continued her studies at Carthage College where she earned a B.S. and then a Master’s degree from WIU.

She was a member of First Union Congregational Church in Quincy.  Throughout her years she sang for over 100 funerals and in church choirs for 75 years.  Her personal favorite song was “I Come To The Garden Alone”.

She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Women’s City Club, University Women, Republican Women, bridge groups & Red Hatters.  She loved volunteering at the IL Veterans Home.

She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Ralph Egley, Junior VanAusdall, her two wonderful sons, Jamie and John Egley and her cherished granddaughter Morgan (Cory) Olson. 

Surviving is her son Dr. Charles (Cheryl) Egley. 

 Surviving devoted grandchildren are Lora (Derek) Turner, Mandy (Hal) Hall, Heather (Matt) Peck, Christine Juhasz, J.T. (Ann) Egley, Christian Egley and 6 great grandchildren.
