Krisen Lee "Kris" Printy

Krisen Lee “Kris” Printy, 65, of Keokuk, IA, died Monday, June 12, 2023 at his home after a short battle with lung cancer.

     He was born on September 4, 1957 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Martin Otto and Peggy Murphy.   His mother later married Donald Printy who raised Kris as his own son and who Kris considered his dad.  Kris graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1975. 

     On June 21, 2008, Kris was united in marriage to the love of his life Tina Kiester Adams at their home in Keokuk.  She survives. “It’s time to say goodbye to the man I loved for the past seventeen years.  This is real …and it hurts to my soul. Rest well, my love…no more suffering.  I will miss you.”

     He is also survived by one son, Brandon Adams of Keokuk, three daughters, Megan Adams of North Liberty, IA, Sarah Berg (Chris) of the state of Washington and Katie Lyman (Elijah) of Yuma, AZ, one granddaughter, Charlotte Adams-Kemper and one grandson, Bentley Lyman.  He is also survived by his mother Peggy (Printy) Cottman of Keokuk, two half-brothers, Jon Otto and Kent Otto both of South Dakota, one step-brother, Scott Meade of North Carolina, several god-children and many other relatives.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Otto, his dad, Donald Printy, grandparents and one step-sister, Heidi Batley.

     Kris had been employed as a police officer with the Keokuk Police Department, had been a master diver, instructor trainer in the Florida Keys and then retired from ADM in Keokuk until it closed.

     He enjoyed the outdoors and especially enjoyed being on the water, fishing, boating and diving.  Kris also enjoyed spending time at the shooting range, going to his coffee clutch on Thursdays and taking care of his dogs.  His grandchildren brought him much happiness and he loved taking them for rides on his 4-wheeler.   

     According to his wishes there will be no services.

     The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
