Sharon Lee “Sherry” Hunter, 86, of Hamilton, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Sunset Home in Quincy.
Sherry was born December 19, 1936, the daughter of Louie and Hildred (Manussier) Fleming at their home in Basco. She graduated from Warsaw High School and then went on to receive her A.A. at Gem City Business College. Sherry served thirty-seven years as a secretary for the Hamilton School district while supporting the children and families of the community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hamilton and had also been attending The Crossing in Quincy. She enjoyed her fur babies, Fergie and Luna and traveling around the country, but the love of her life was her son Brad, who passed away in 2015. She found peace in gardening and took pride in decorating her home for all the holidays to share with family and friends. At 80 years young, she and her sister, Sue, together were baptized by surrendering their lives and faith to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior.
Sherry is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy; nieces and nephews, Sharon Seal, Dawn McCoy, Terri Power, and Eric and Monty Snyder; and many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Brad; brother, Ralston; sisters, A. Ione Shinn and M. Sue Snyder.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until time of services at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the West Cemetery near Basco on 1:00 P.M. at the cemetery on Sunday, February 26th. Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
