Patty Ruth (Griffin) Runge, 86, of Warsaw, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, December 21,
2022, at her home in Warsaw surrounded by her family.
Patty was born on November 5, 1936, in Warsaw, Illinois, the daughter of Wilbur and Anna
(Schmitt) Griffin. On August 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Daniel Louis Runge. After
nearly sixty years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 28, 2013.
Patty worked at Sheller-Globe/BTR from 1978 until the time of her retirement in 1998. She took
great joy in raising her children. Patty loved to read, go shopping and go on walks. She was a
sweet, kind, hard-working woman with a big heart. Patty was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Warsaw.
Patty is survived by eleven children: Christine (Denny) Gates of Keokuk, Iowa, Karla (Richard)
Long of Warsaw, Illinois, Daniel (Carolyn) Runge of Seabeck, Washington, Valerie (Kim) Mulch of
Pella, Iowa; Paula (Brett) Schrader of Warsaw, Illinois, Russell (Cathy) Runge of Ellsinor,
Missouri, Matthew Runge of Shelbyville, Missouri, Shawn (Cheri) Runge of Morris, Illinois, Stacie
(Paul) Sheppard of Keokuk, Iowa, Nicole (Brent) Fellows of Sorrento, Florida, Erin (Jeff) Hughes
of Warsaw, Illinois; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren.
Patty is preceded in death by her husband Daniel, son Tadd, daughter-in-law Robin, and siblings
Wahneta, Priscilla, Brenda, Elijah, Elisha, Nathaniel, Timothy and Gary.
Private graveside services will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Warsaw, Illinois.
