Dawn Collins Weston, 47, of Ursa, IL, died October 20, 2022 in Davenport, IA.
She was born October 26, 1974, to Charles and Patricia Collins in Keokuk, IA.
She attended Hamilton High School where she played basketball and softball and graduated in
1992.
In 1994, she married Richard (Rick) Weston and they had three daughters together, Kourtney,
Raegan, and Morgan.
In 2005, she and Rick separated and she met her partner Ann Newton Kalis and her three sons,
Kurt, Nikolas, and Jacob Kalis. The family became the Brady Bunch.
In 2012, Dawn graduated from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI with a degree in
secondary education with a focus in History and English. Teaching was a huge passion of hers. She
loved her students as if they were her own children.
In addition to teaching, Dawn loved coaching sports. From her daughters t-ball and soccer teams, to
softball, volleyball, basketball, and even track and field. She couldn’t stay away from competition.
Dawn was also an avid reader and history buff.
Dawn was most proud of her three daughters and three step sons. She constantly bragged about
their accomplishments and how all six were part of the US Military. Her favorite thing about being
their mom and step mom was when she became a grandmother.
Dawn is survived by her partner Ann Newton Kalis; her parents: Charles and Patricia Collins, her
daughters: Kourtney (Holli) Baldwin, Raegan (Benett) McDonald, Morgan (Chris) Stanfield; her step
sons: Kurt, Nikolas, and Jacob; her grandchildren: Gabby, Murphy, Paisley, and Carter; her sisters:
Deanne (Andy) Enderle, Theresa (Charles) West and nieces; and her many friends and family.
