Robert Lee Riddle

1964 – 2022

 

    Robert Lee Riddle, 58, of Keokuk, IA, died Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Fort Madison, IA.

     He was born on April 13, 1964 in Keokuk, the son of William and Virginia Hawkins Riddle.  He graduated from Keokuk High School with the Class of 1982.

     On January 18, 1986, Robert was united in marriage to Barbara Cockrell in Keokuk.  She survives.

     He is also survived by two sons, Matt Riddle (Steph) and Michael Robert Riddle both of Keokuk, his grandsons, Jackson and Grayson Riddle, one brother, Randy Riddle (Alice) of Olathe, KS, one sister, Teresa Bevering (Jim) of Plainfield, IL, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.

     Robert had been employed at Keokuk Steel Castings in Keokuk for twenty-two years.  Currently he was employed at Shottenkirk in Fort Madison.

     He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

     Robert loved to hunt and always enjoyed the annual Riddle hunting trip with his sons Matt and Michael, his grandson Grayson and his brother Randy.  He also enjoyed woodworking.   Most of all Robert loved his family and spending time with them was his greatest joy.  His grandsons, Jackson and Grayson, were the light of his life.

     A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk with Pastor Derek Olsen officiating.

     Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. with the family meeting with friends at that time.
