Charles Anthony “Tony” Ruggles, 80, of Hamilton, passed away at 11:19 PM
Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Tony was born July 25, 1942, the son of Charles Logan and Kathryn Darlene
(Walker) Ruggles in Ft. Madison, Iowa. He graduated from Carthage High School.
On August 18, 1962, he was united in marriage to Ruby Mae Ryland at
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage, Illinois. She preceded him in
death in 2009. Tony was an agent for the Combined Insurance Company for many
years. After his retirement from the insurance industry, he owned and operated
Breadeaux Pizza in Keokuk for several years.
Tony is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Bob) Campion of Chillicothe, Illinois and
Melissa (Rory) Eubanks of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; grandchildren, Patrick
Campion, Kevin Campion, Mitchell (Rachel) Eubanks, Levi (Meghann) Eubanks and
Brenna Chaknine; great granddaughter, Lettie Mae Chaknine; and three sisters,
Ann Ruggles of Peoria, Illinois, Donna (“Bud”) High of Florida and Patty (Jess)
Hinman of Kennewick, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby; and a daughter, Michelle
Hudson.
