Roline Ann Fenton, 81, of Urbandale, IA, formerly of Keokuk, IA, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at her home in Urbandale.

 

Roline was born March 24, 1941, the daughter of Charles Ambrose and Grace Ann (Varner) Sapp in Keokuk, Iowa.  She attended Keokuk High School, graduating in 1958, and was united in marriage to Clarence Curfman, Jr. on May 9, 1959 in Whittier, Alaska. He preceded her in death in 1999.  

 

On February 5, 1977, she was united in marriage to James Richard Fenton. He preceded her in death in 2012.  

 

Roline was employed in the Keokuk area for several years before taking a job with Northwestern Bell. While working at Northwestern Bell, a job transfer took her to Spencer, IA, where she then worked as a bank teller, hospital employee, and served as the Cash Office Manager for Walmart in Spencer from 1998 until her retirement in 2008. She then moved to Ankeny, and eventually to Urbandale. 

 

After her retirement, Roline spent time enjoying family gatherings and spending hours with her children and grandchildren, who she loved more than anything. Her most frequent wish was that her grandchildren would “just grow up to be happy.” Seeing pictures of her grandchildren and having family and friends visit was what brought her the most joy. She also loved to travel, her favorite spots being Florida and the Keokuk area.

 

Roline is survived by her children, Staci (Scott) Mead of Waukee, Iowa, Julie (Tyrone) Rowse of Warsaw, Missouri and Kevin (Mary) Curfman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a son-in-law, Kevin Slayton of Des Moines; fourteen grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; and siblings, Melvin Sapp and Roy (Pam) Sapp, of Keokuk, Iowa, Charles Sapp of Oklahoma City and Dave (Von) Sapp of Keokuk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

She was preceded by her parents; husbands, Clarence and James; two daughters, Jamie Fenton and Linda Slayton; and siblings, Jim Sapp, Ruth Gooding, Mary Moeller, Betty Boyer, Esther Kehler, Bob Sapp and Lydell Sapp.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton with burial to follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 until Noon at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.  Memorials may be directed to The ALS Association Iowa Chapter 3636 Westown Parkway - Suite 204 - West Des Moines, IA 50266.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of the arrangements.
