Mary O. Woodworth

1947 – 2022

 

     Mary O. Woodworth, 75, of Nauvoo, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 after a battle with cancer surrounded by her friends and family.

     She was born on March 20, 1947, the daughter of the late Lynn and O’Dean Felgar of Hamilton, IL.

     Mary had several interests throughout her life.  Spending time outdoors and walking through the woods was a very peaceful time.  She enjoyed feeding the birds, photography, gardening, hunting mushrooms, making projects from barn wood and going to auctions.  She grew up singing gospel music with her siblings and later on with her daughter.  Mary had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh.

     Her faith was very important to her and she was bold to share her love for Christ.  Peace is not found in material things in this world but through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

     She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Young of Ottumwa, IA, special daughter Lisa Leazer of Keokuk, IA, brothers, Bob Felgar (Marti) of Madison, AL, Stan Felgar (Brenda) of Argyle, IA, one sister-in-law, Ginny Felgar of Warsaw, IL, three grandchildren, Joel (Taylor) Murdock, Kody Murdock and Briana Murdock (Yoshi), one great-grandchild along with nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by close friends, Barb McNally, Lois Mallott, Peg Webster and very special friend Susi Fisher and the special family at Lee County Hospice.

     Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Lewig and Madeline Jean Felgar, brothers, Claire, Gary and Vance Felgar.  And not to forget her best fur babies, Annie, Babe and Lexi.

      Per Mary’s wishes there will be no services.

     Memorials may be sent to PAWS Animal Shelter or 2x4’s For Hope in Ft. Madison, IA.

    The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
