Barbara Briggs

1950 – 2022       

 

    Barbara Anne Briggs, 72, of Keokuk, IA, died Saturday, June 11, 2022 at her home.

     She was born on January 31, 1950 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Delbert Eston and Janet (Egley) Haage.  Barbara graduated from Keokuk Senior High with the Class of 1968.

     She was of the Baptist faith.

     She enjoyed playing bingo and watching classic TV shows.  Her most favorite show was “Days of Our Lives” and everyone know she was not to be interrupted when her show was on.  Barbara’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     Barbara is survived by two sons, Johnnie Smith of Burlington, IA, and Brett Briggs (Tara) of Wayland, MO, one daughter, Kimberly Strunk of Dallas City, IL, seven grandchildren, Paige and Natalie Smith, Clarissa and Justine Strunk, Angelina Lox (Justin),  Blake Briggs and C.J. Overhulser and five great-grandchildren, Royalty, Khalani, Aubrey Piles, Emmalyn Korn and Mark Lox.  She is also survived by her mother, Janet Haage of Keokuk, one brother, Ed Haage of Keokuk, one sister, Peggy Tweedy (Walter) of Montrose and several nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her father, one son, B.J. Briggs, one son-in-law, Brian Strunk and one daughter-in-law, Rebecca Briggs.

    A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

     The Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk is assisting the family with arrangements.
