Thomas Martin Dye, 84, of Carthage, passed away at 7:35 AM at the Mississippi Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center Friday, May 20, 2022.
Thomas was born January 15, 1938, the son of Charley and Edna (Kiesow) Dye in Carthage. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1956. He was in the Signal Corps in the U.S. Army from 1956 until his Honorable Discharge in 1959 and was serving in Alaska on the day it became a state. On November 22, 1961, he was united in marriage to Rogene Lunt. She preceded him in death in 2012 after fifty years of marriage. Tom worked for W. L. Miller Company over forty years, retiring in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing.
Thomas is survived by two children, Jeri (Kerry) Asbridge of Hamilton and John T. (Janene) Dye of Dahinda, Illinois; two grandchildren, Jacob (Ashlee) Dye and Lauren Dye; step grandson, Kane Asbridge; five great grandchildren; and his special friend, Mary Moyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rogene; and a brother, Jerry Dye.
Private family services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
