Laura Mae Stokes

Laura Mae Stokes, 64, of Dallas City, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022, at her home in Dallas City.

 

Laura was born the daughter of Henry “Harry” and Claudine (Wheeler) Stokes in Rochester, New York.  She graduated from Dallas City High School and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts at Carl Sandburg College and studied early childhood education at Western Illinois University.  She was united marriage to Calvin Heath, and they had two children, Eric and Amanda, they later divorced.  She was then married to Arthur Ellison and they later divorced.  Laura enjoyed eagle watching by the river, her dog Lincoln, and especially time with her family and grandchildren.  

 

Laura is survived by her son, Eric (Connie) Heath of Dallas City, Illinois; her daughter, Amanda (Jason Kinman) Donahue of Dallas City; grandchildren, Alec (Autumn, fiancé) Heath, Braxton (Bailey Day) Heath, Draidan Heath, Chase Heath, Jamie Heath, Axel Heath and Jensen Heath, Tyler (Ashlei) Fuller, Trey Fuller and Nathan Woolfolk; great grandson, Kennett Fuller; and two brothers, Rich and Lee Stokes.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Aaron in infancy; a sister, Becky; and a brother, Jim Stokes.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday morning at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. with family meeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.  Memorials may be directed to the family of Laura Stokes.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of the arrangements.
