James “Brian” Jairl

1967-2022

 

     James “Brian” Jairl, 54 of Keokuk, IA died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at his home.

     He was born May 19, 1967 in Keokuk, IA the son of James and Sharon Frueh Jairl.  Brian graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1985.

     On June 1, 1991 Brian was united in marriage to Marsha Keppel. She survives.

     Other survivors include three sons, Juston Jairl (Chelsey) of Hamilton, IL, James “J.D.” Jairl (Samantha Palm) of Keokuk and Tyler Jairl (Zoe “Squirrel Krome) of Keokuk and five grandchildren, Wyatt, Karter, Chloe, Xander and Zeke.  He is also survived by four sisters, Joy Jairl of Keokuk, Rebecca Kalyn (Joe) of California, Vanessa Jairl of Nauvoo, IL and Sharon Lally of Burlington, IA, two brothers, Steve Kline (Brenda) of Keokuk and John Kline (Tina) of Keokuk, several nieces, nephews and Frueh and Page cousins, father and step-mother, Jim and Betty Jairl of Keokuk, special aunt and uncle, Joe and Melody Riter of Keokuk, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kathleen and Albert Keppel of Keokuk and brother-in-law, Albert Keppel (Michelle) of Keokuk.

     He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents, Everett and Dorothy Frueh and one nephew, Nathan Keppel.

      Brian had been employed by Gregory Manufacturing Ft. Madison, IA.

     He was a member of the American Legion (Underneath the Sons) and Quails Forever.

     Brian loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the eagles. Brian loved working on cars, going to the races and riding his motorcycle.  He especially loved to spend time at his place at the Lake of the Oaks and sitting in his sunroom taking in the views at his home in the country. Most of all, Brian loved spending time with his grandchildren.

     A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Dawn Farris officiating.  Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Keokuk.

  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m.-12 noon Friday, at the funeral home with the family visiting with friends at that time.

     Memorials may be made to the family.
