Danny L. Ellefritz

Danny L. Ellefritz, 84, of Ferris, Illinois passed away at 3:01 AM early Friday
morning, March 11, 2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Danny was born in Burnside, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Edith (Edgecomb)
Ellefritz on September 25, 1937. He graduated from Colusa High School in 1955
as Salutatorian. He served in the U. S. Army Reserves. On September 10, 1960,
he was united in marriage to Pat McIlmoil at her grandmother’s house in
Elvaston. Danny started out farming and later built steel bins and houses. He was
the Vice President of Kirby Buildings. He then worked at the Union Electric Dam
facility from 1982 until his retirement in in 1999. Danny enjoyed bowling with his
wife.
Danny is survived by his wife, Pat, of Ferris; three children, Jackie (Jill) Ellefritz of
Burlington,Iowa, Jamie (Jennifer Imthurn) Ellefritz of Carthage, and Julie (Marc)
Bohnenkamp of Ft. Madison, Iowa; grandchildren, Justin (Jami) Ellefritz, Jayla
(Jordan McFadden) Ellefritz, Jacy (Courtney) Ellefritz, Jadrien (Elizabeth)
Bohnenkamp, Adriana (Kody Vermazen) Bohnenkamp and Aleana (Nate Rose)
Bohnenkamp; great grandchildren, Kensley, Jensen, Bryleigh, Paizlee and Adaleigh
Ellefritz and Evelyn Bohnenkamp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, William “Jackie”,
Gayle “Pete”, Glen “Bill”, Robert Short and Vernon Ellefritz.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday morning, March 15, 2022, at
Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with burial to follow in McKay Cemetery near
Burnside. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Monday evening at Printy
Funeral Home in Carthage. Memorials may be directed to the family of Danny L.
Ellefritz. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of the arrangements.
