Bobby J. Smith

Bobby J. Smith, 60, passed away peacefully at 4:10 PM Monday, February 14,
2022, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, surrounded by his three children.
Bobby was born the son of Charles and Alma (Hale) Smith in Keokuk, Iowa on May
30, 1961. He married Jana Payne on May 29, 1981. Together they had three
children, they later divorced. Bobby spent many years driving a semi and working
as a farmhand. He enjoyed spending his spare time with his grandchildren and he
had a very special bond with his granddaughter, Kiley and grandson, Karter.
Bobby is survived by two daughters, Amber (Brian) Cooper and Brooke Smith,
both of Keokuk; one son, Justin Smith of Mount Pleasant; four granddaughters,
Faythe, Briley, Hailey and Kiley; three grandsons, Rylan, Anthony, and Karter; a
step-grandson, Kaedyn; four sisters, Mary Smith of Stronghurst, Barbara (Harold)
Shrum of Stronghurst, Alma Hull of Elvaston and Jeanette (David) Glines of Taylor
Ridge; three brothers, Charles Smith of Plymouth, Fred Smith of Keokuk and Jim
(Nikki) Fink of Carthage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Sue; a brother, Richard,
two nieces; two nephews; and a brother-in-law.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 19 ,2022
at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Graveside services will be held immediately
after at 1:30 PM at the Elvaston Cemetery in Elvaston, Illinois. Memorials may be
directed to the family of Bobby Smith for funeral expenses. Printy Funeral Home
of Carthage is in charge of the arrangements.
