Jon Roger Loeffler

1947 -2022

 

     Jon Roger Loeffler, 74, of Keokuk, IA died Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa.

     He was born October 27, 1947 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of Roger “Bud” and Bernadine “Babe” Bennett Loeffler. Jon graduated from Keokuk High School with the class of 1966.

     On June 15, 1968, Jon was united in marriage to Mary Jane Blankenship at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Keokuk, Iowa.

     In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Laura Keller (Marlon) of Keokuk, Iowa and Jennifer Conard (Jeff) of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, three grandchildren, Audrianna Briggs (Matthew), Brandon Conard (Brooke) and Madelynn Keller (Michael), one great-grandchild, Camden Briggs and one nephew, Jame Hayes (Amanda) and his three children, Andrew, Macy and Logan.    

     Prior to Jon’s retirement in 2013, he had been employed by ADM Milling in Keokuk, Iowa for forty-three years. 

     Jon loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed family oriented activities including boating, camping, riding four wheelers and taking golf cart rides.  He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed to work on cars.  Family was the most important aspect of Jon’s life.  Jon was a deeply devoted husband, father and grandfather.  Jon leaves his family with a lifetime of wonderful memories.  His faith was an integral part of his life and he was proud to be a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Vietnam War and was a proud American.

     He was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his sister, Jami Loeffler.

     A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa with Pastor David Turner officiating.  Burial with military rites will take place at the Keokuk National Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held after 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the funeral home with family meeting with friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

     Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
