Eleanor J. “Ellie” Tubbs, 74, of Carthage, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Bickford Cottage in Macomb.

Ellie was born October 30, 1947, the daughter of Walter and Cecilia (Hulsman) Johnson in West Point, Iowa.  She graduated from Marquette High School in West Point.  On January 10, 1970, she was united in marriage to Dennis Tubbs in West Point.  He survives.  Ellie had worked at Methode Electronics in Carthage for thirty-five years retiring in 2012.  Ellie was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage and a member of the Catholic Ladies Club.

Ellie is survived by her husband, Dennis, of Carthage; her son, Matthew Tubbs and daughter, Andrea Tubbs, both of Carthage; siblings, Patti (Tom) Pruss of Aurora, Colorado; Connie Brown of Ft. Madison, Iowa, Jan (Rick) Morrow of Memphis, Missouri, Betty Holton of Lee Summit, Missouri, Wally Johnson of West Point, Iowa, Jimmy (Tina) Johnson of Vail, Arizona, Mary (Jeff) Watson of Marshalltown, Iowa and Gary (Chris) Johnson of West Point, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna; a brother, Ricky; and a brother, Joseph in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Carthage.  Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 3:00 – 700 P.M. at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage with family meeting friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.  A Rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home following the visitation.  Masks required.  Memorials may be directed to Traditions Hospice of Galesburg or the Alzheimer’s Association.  Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
