WCAZ Obituary News

Kimberly Sue Krieg

Kimberly Sue Krieg, 67, of Basco, IL went to her eternal home with Jesus on October 11, 2021.

Kim was born on February 3, 1954 to Clifton and Laura Ann Carle.  She graduated from Carthage High School in 1972 and attended Western Illinois University.  She was united in Christian marriage to Galen Krieg on August 26, 1973.  He survives.  Together, they raised four children and taught them to know the Lord Jesus Christ.

Kim had recently retired from managing the Hamilton-Warsaw Clinic.  Prior to her tenure there, she was an EMT and a Secretary at Memorial Hospital.  Kim loved her work at the clinic and was honored for her success there.  While she was a manager, she received many awards for her work, including ¨Who's Your Angel?¨ and a ¨Fire Starter¨ award.  Kim taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years, sang in the church choir, and served as an Assistant Minister.  When she wasn't working, Kim could be found at any of her children or grandchildren´s sporting or school events.  Nothing made her prouder or happier than to be supporting one of her family treasures.  Kim´s greatest joy was her family and being with them made her the happiest.   All that knew Kim loved her kindness, her quick wit, her generosity, and love for others.  Kim’s loving spirit was much more than what can be written in words.

Kim is survived by her husband, Galen Krieg, of Basco, IL; daughter April (Jason) Lemley of Oswego, IL; daughter Erin (Ryan) Biery of Carthage, IL; son Cole (Ashley) Krieg of Carthage, IL; daughter-in-law Katy Krieg of Basco, IL; grandchildren Zachary (Jasmine) Lemley, Abigail and Megan Lemley; Katherine, Anna, and Lucas Biery, Elly, Avalyn, and Raef Krieg, Nora and Wade Krieg; a great-granddaughter Blake Julianna Lemley; a sister Pam (Joe) Dion; a brother Scott (Terri) Carle; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.  Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Laura Carle; her sister Jan Carle; and her son Casey Krieg.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Carthage, with burial to follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00  with the family meeting with friends and family from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage.
