Stanley “Jack” W. Edlen

1938-2021

 

     Stanley “Jack” W. Edlen, 83 of Kahoka died Monday, September 13, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  

     He was born April 4, 1938 the son of Harold and Louise Edlen.   On March 5, 1960 he was united in marriage to Nancy Roller in Kahoka, MO.  She survives.   

     He is also survived by his daughter, Cindy Morse (Bill) of Kahoka, seven grandchildren, April Johnson (Jeremy) of Montrose, Danelle Alvis (Terry) of Alexandria,  Jessica Justice (Jeremiah) of Kahoka, Andria LeMaster of Keokuk, Anthony (Melissa) LeMaster of Wisconsin, Kyle Swindler (Tina) of Mt. Pleasant and Keane Morrison (Kimberly) of Kahoka, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great- great grandson.  He is also survived by his brother, Joe Elden (Ann) of Kahoka, one brother-in-law, Jack Tayloe of Cuba, MO, along with many nieces, nephews, friends and wonderful neighbors.  

     He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Barbara Jane “Bobbi” Edlen Blackburn, his sister, Mary Tayloe, a grandson, Ryan Harold LeMaster, three sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law. 

     Jack graduated from Revere C-3 High School in Revere, MO. After graduating he worked very hard to provide for his family doing various jobs.  He later was employed by Missouri State Highway Department for thirty-seven years until his retirement in 2000. 

     He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kahoka. 

     Jack enjoyed spending time outdoors farming, working with cattle and fishing.  He was a gifted woodworker and mechanic.  Later in life, he enjoyed taking trips to the Dutchman’s Store in Cantril, IA, where he made many new friends through the years.  

     A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 15 at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka, MO with Pastor Glen Yoder officiating.  Burial will be in the Kahoka Cemetery. 

     Visitation will held prior to the service Wednesday, from 10-11 a.m., with family meeting with friends at that time. 

     Memorials may be made to the family.
