Brent Lane Payton, 43, of Highland, Illinois passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at home after a short illness. Brent was born on February 22, 1978 at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Nolan and Maribeth(Lane) Payton of Alamo, Texas. He graduated from High School in 1997. He played soccer in grade and high school. He never married. He enjoyed fishing, camping, rollerblading, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals. He worked at Highland Pizza Hut where he wore many hats as a cook, deliverer and assistant manager for almost 20 years. 

In addition to his parents, Brent leaves a sister Jennifer Payton of Ellington, Connecticut, a brother Nolan Thomas Payton of Laredo, Texas. He leaves an aunt and uncle, David and Kathy Lane of Albion, Illinois, a great aunt Ruth Stiegel of Detroit, Michigan and 5 nephews, 2 nieces and many cousins.

Memorials may be made to Metro East Humane Society-Highland where his family has adopted cats and dogs over the years. A gravesite ceremony will held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 1 to 1:45 pm on Sunday at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton directly before the service, with a funeral procession to the cemetery leaving the funeral home at 1:45 pm.
