Russell Allen McClain, 47, of Carthage, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021, at his home in Carthage.

Russell was born March 29, 1974, the son of Martin Marion McClain and Jean Marie Lawson in Carthage, Illinois.  He graduated from Keokuk High School in 1992.  In February 2004 he was united in marriage to Renee Hendricks.  They later divorced but stayed close over the years.  Russell was a shade tree mechanic that loved working on cars and riding his motorcycle.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and cooking.  He especially enjoyed his time cooking for Tippenbuds in Keokuk in the 1990’s.

Russell is survived by his son, Cody McClain of Hamilton; his daughter, Samantha McClain of Hamilton; his mother, Jean Lawson of Keokuk; stepmother, Angel McClain of Keokuk; siblings, Jeff (Angie) McClain, James McClain, Danny McClain, and Michelle Houghton, all of Keokuk; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; a brother, Chism Shuman; and a niece, Danielle McClain.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until time of services at 7:00 at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the family of Russell McClain for funeral expenses.  Printy Funeral Home of Hamilton is in charge of arrangements.
